Ochre Medical Centre Grafton is a spacious purpose-built modern facility, close to the centre of town. There is ample parking at the clinic which is situated right next to the banks of the beautiful Clarence River. It is an accredited teaching practice and has a strong and dynamic team of professionals both GPs and Allied Health. The practice benefits from having both pharmacy and pathology services on site.

After Hours
The doctors at the Grafton GP Super Clinic provide an after hours call service for practice patients only. A doctor on call can be contacted by telephoning the practice on (02) 6640 3600 or 0472 831 714 outside of trading hours.

Billing Type
Ochre Health is a mixed billing practice. Bulk billing is available at the discretion of the individual doctor and as a general guide, pensioners (over 65 years of age), health care card holders and children under 16 years can be bulk billed at certain times during the day. Please ask our friendly reception team for more details. Please also note, we have systems in place to process your Medicare rebate claims on the spot.

Dr. Nicholas Cooper (FRACGP) – Medical Coordinator/General Practitioner
Dr Cooper has more than 25 years of experience working as GP in the UK and Australia. His main objective is to provide high quality GP service to his patients.
Specialist Interest Areas: Chronic disease management including cardiovascular and diabetes.

Dr Mark Bell (FRACGP) – General Practitioner
Dr Bell has been trained in medicine from the University of Liverpool in 1990s and since then has undertaken several hospital training posts to gain good experience for general practice. He was qualified as a GP in 2004, initially worked in urgent care and Out of Hours. There he became the clinical lead and then the Deputy Clinical Director for the Community Business Unit of the hospital in Macclesfield. Dr Bell was then made partner in a busy training practice in 2008 and subsequently the Medical Director of a Community Interest Company which provided “out of hospital” services to the residents in Eastern Cheshire (population 200,000.)
Mark has now moved with his family to Australia and wish to provide the best service possible to the patients in Grafton. Dr Bell enjoys walking, playing chess, spending time with his family, especially in outdoors activities.
Specialty interest areas: Musculoskeletal medicine.

Dr Maneesha Weerasena (MMBS)– General Practitioner
Dr Weerasena moved to Australia in 2011 and has worked at Campbell Hospital as an Emergency Doctor for nearly six years. Outside of work, Maneesha enjoys reading and travelling.

Dr Matthew Roberts (BM, MA, FRACGP) – General Practitioner
Dr Matthew Roberts moved from the UK with his wife and two young daughters to Melbourne in April 2017. His family decided to relocate to the warmer climes of New South Wales in November 2017. He arrived to Medicine via a circuitous life route, growing up in PNG in his early years with later school and university in the UK. He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Natural Sciences and afterwards spent time in various jobs including a stint teaching English in Morocco. He then decided to try his hand at Medicine and qualified from the University of Southampton in 2008. He has been a GP since 2013. In the UK he was involved in ‘admissions avoidance’ which involved working in partnership with older patients, managing their chronic medical conditions, and maintaining their independence at home. As well as general medicine he also has interests in elderly care and otolaryngology. Outside of Medicine he spends most of his time running after his young daughters trying to keep them out of trouble. Matt enjoys spending time with family, walking, badminton, outdoors recreation, travel.

Dr John-Paul Kennedy (MBBS, MICGP, FRACGP) – General Practitioner
Dr. John-Paul Kennedy qualified in Medicine at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in 2004. He gained experience in several hospitals in Ireland from 2004 to 2009 including jobs in Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, Geriatrics, General Medicine. John-Paul completed GP training (MICGP) between 2009 and 2013 and moved to Foster in rural Victoria that same year. He has worked as a GP (FRACGP) in Foster VIC, Mernda Village Medical Centre, Melbourne and Jesmond, Newcastle, NSW. He looks forward to providing high quality care to the patients of Grafton. His personal interests include travel, reading, film, music, soccer and outdoors recreation.
Specialty interest areas: Chronic disease management, paediatrics, mental health, care of the older patient.

Dr Chris Taylor (BMBS, MRCGP) – General Practitioner 
Before embarking on his medical pathway, Dr Taylor worked as a Strategy Consultant in new technologies in London. In 2006, he decided to retrain, embarking on a medical degree at the University of Nottingham. Graduating in 2010, he went on to work as a hospital doctor in Derbyshire and Manchester, before reskilling again and training as a GP.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his two young children, playing tennis, and trekking.
Specialty interest areas: Care for the elderly, joint injections, paediatrics, chronic disease

Grafton is a town on the North Coast of NSW situated on banks of the beautiful Clarence River. It services the Clarence Valley which has a population of nearly 50 000. Grafton has its own regional airport and is in close proximity to the Qld Gold Coast which is just over a 2 hour drive away.

Grafton is a gracious, historic city famous for its Jacaranda trees and beautiful parks. It is a sporting hub and plays host to many large sporting events including State Hockey Championships, Rowing Regattas and Australian Power Boat Racing.

Just east of Grafton, Yuraygir National Park is a sensational strip of coast teeming with wildlife. It also boasts pristine beaches, high dunes, paperbark lagoons, freshwater creeks that spill into the sea and some of the best coastal walking tracks in the State. Nearby, Yamba, Maclean and Iluka are also well worth a visit.
